Hello my name is Lacy Franklin, I am from Decatur, Texas. I was born in Denton, Texas on April 28, 1994 to my beloved parents, Shonda Elliott and Mike Franklin. Growing up, I was constantly surrounded by music. I was fortunate enough to be put in music lessons growing up: piano, voice, bass guitar, etc. However, my love for the theatre began when I was 5 years old. Growing up in a small southern town, one of the main things to do was to go to the local library. My mother would rent different musicals on VHS, and we would go home and watch each one of the movies that was brought back to the house. Although I loved them all, I distinctly remember watching "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and thinking to myself, "I want to do that when I grow up." After that moment, I knew that the theatre would be something that I would pursue for years to come. At age 8, I was watching the 10th Anniversary of "Les Mis," and the lovely Ruthie Henshall was singing, "I Dreamed A Dream." Hearing Ruthie sing inspired me to begin voice lessons. In high school, I began to actually be cast in shows, and participate in this art that I love so much. During high school, I realized that this is something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So, I went on to pursue a degree in Musical Theatre at West Texas A&M University. I graduated with my Bachelors in this particular degree on May 14, 2016. I am so excited to finally enter the real world of theatre, and hopefully, be able to share my passion with others. The most beautiful thing about theatre, is that is an art form that is the closest to real life, and the most beautiful thing about life, is that it is temporary. Thank you for reading my biography, please enjoy the rest of my website.
